Modules

The STARGATE application consists of five interconnected modules. It should be highlighted that modules are connected to the fields and can be accessed only when users enter one field. The seven modules of the STARGATE system are the following:

  • Overview : collects and presents data from all different modules of the system in a compact way, allowing users to get an instant overview of operations, production flows, crop status and many more real-time or processed data.

  • Satellite : offers processed satellite data at plot and static level.

  • Clima : integrates and presents in a unified way all available climatic data, ranging from open meteorological data to dedicated sensors' networks that are installed in the field.

  • Soil / Crop Data : enables users to manage critical soil and crop data.

  • Calendar : allows users to feed the system with highly detailed information at plot level in reference to all production-related activities and inputs in the form of an operational calendar, with the use of an easy-to-use office registry

  • Crop Risk Analysis : The Crop Climate Risk diagram visualizes the probability of weather events like drought or frost affecting a specific field during a crop's growing season, calculated by combining historical event likelihood with its impact at different growth stages, while also incorporating cumulative growing degree days (GDD) to outline crop development phases.

  • Crop Weather Analysis : The Crop Risk Monitoring diagram tracks a weather variable's behavior throughout a crop's current growing season, displaying the likelihood of events like drought or frost, incorporating past and present data, a 7-day forecast, and comparing it to historical climate averages over two distinct periods.

  • Weather Models : The meteogram sowing windows combines key weather variables to assess suitable sowing conditions, offering a clear visual summary for efficient decision-making, while the meteogram highlights ideal spraying periods by displaying temperature, precipitation, and wind forecasts, and the meteogram Soil Trafficability provides precise data on soil conditions across different soil types like sand, silty loam, silt, and clay.
